The sixth edition of the Venice Symposium explored the latest innovations in technologies for energy recovery from organic waste.
The comprehensive four-day Symposium in Venice, Italy was organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) with the scientific support of universities of Padova, Hokkaido, Queensland, Rostock, Trento, Tsinghua and Hamburg. Over 500 scientists and plant operators from approximately 60 countries attended the conference this year.
The Symposium was structured in oral and poster sessions, an exhibition by companies and institutions working in the field, and technical tours. Bioprocess Control was a part of the Venice Symposium Trade Show, where it took the opportunity to promote novel solutions to today’s challenges in the area of biogas. In the frame of the Companies Forum Session, our colleague, Dr. Mihaela Nistor, had an oral presentation about smart instruments for efficient biogas research and improved operation of biogas plants.
As an exhibitor, it was a great opportunity to meet many of our existing customers, but also new prospective clients at one event. As a researcher, it was great to listen to presentations based on data generated from our Automatic Methane Potential Test Systems (AMPTS), but also to be a part of the scientific exchange and upgrade in relation to waste management strategies and circular economy options in the largest word’s cities.
We thank all visitors at the Bioprocess Control exhibition stand and attendees at our oral presentation! Looking forward to the Sardinia Symposium 2017 which will be organized by the same team!
