Bioprocess Control has signed its first sales contract in China with an industrial biogas producer. The sale totalling 1 million SEK involves the installation of Bioprocess Control’s recently launched Intelligent Process Automation Solution (IPAS). This sale is highly symbolic for Bioprocess Control as it marks the beginning of commercial activities in the Chinese market, a market that will experience an explosive growth over the next 5 years with regards to new industrial biogas production capacity.
During the first week of June, Bioprocess Control signed its first sales contract in China at a signing ceremony hosted by the Swedish Embassy in Beijing, and attended by the Swedish Ambassador to China Mikael Lindström. Worth close to 1 million SEK, the sale involves the installation of a complete automation solution and is the first sale of Bioprocess Control’s recently launched Intelligent Process Automation Solution (IPAS).
The contract was signed with Heilongjiang Province Longneng Gas Investment Limited Company for a newly built multi-digester biogas site located in Binxin, within the Heilongjiang province of north-eastern China. This company has the ambition to become a leading industrial biogas producer in northern China and has close to 50 projects ranging in size in their development pipeline.
- This sale marks the official start of commercial activities in China, a market that will experience a 40% annual growth in new industrial biogas capacity over the next 5 years. We consider China as one of our home markets and will play a very important role in the development of the company in the years to come. Our goal when we opened up our sales office in China last autumn was to position Bioprocess Control as a natural partner for industrial biogas producers. This sale is one giant step towards realising this goal and will also be a launching pad for signing additional sales contracts in the months to come, commented Kristofer Cook, CEO for Bioprocess Control.
