This technical specification defines a laboratory method, in batch, for the quantitative and specific evaluation of the maximum methane production obtainable as a result of the biodegradation of liquid and solid organic substances by anaerobic microorganisms, under the conditions in which the test itself. The measurement method described is made by biological tests.
Bioprocess Control’s test protocol and measuring standard for biomethane potential analysis has been used as important reference for developing this national standard.
